Gilmore Girls

I'm jonesing for good Luke/Lorelai fic, and so far, this is what I've found:

Irrevocable Night by Laura Smith
Luke and Lorelai and a moment. Sigh. Gorgeous and painful.

Hot Cross Buns by Mala
Luke dreams in counterpoint to Lorelai’s dreams in the season 3 premiere. Luke dreams, and you’ll ache for him.

The King of Practical Wisdom by Anna S.
::sniff:: Lorelai misses Rory, and Luke is there.

“He's not Christopher or Prince Charming and he doubts that he's ever played into her day-dreams.

But Luke has the coffee and she sleeps in his arms...”

Love Luke. Love him!

Harry Potter
Things to Do When Your Lover Is Dead, Tea for Ghosts and Table for Two
A triptych by zahra on how it all fell apart for Harry and Draco. Guaranteed to hurt, and I say this as someone who doesn't much care for Harry/Draco. These are poignant, well-written and just so... evocative. Zahra hits the little details of living with, and without someone, dead on.

::sniff::

Old Wizard's Ale by Liz Barr
They really weren't that drunk. James and Sirius are hanging out and things take an ... interesting turn. Even though I seem to be a rabid Sirius/Remus shipper, this is so sweet and perfect, I can't help but love it. Sigh...

The Revenge of Lord Vodkamort by Liz Barr
*dies laughing*
So Harry's defeated Voldemort, and spends his days drunk and playing with sporks. Go. Read. Laugh. And pester Liz for more of this perfectly hilarious, perfectly characterized universe.

Sundress by Rhoddlet
Ginny wants Hermione. Claustrophobic, suffocating in Ginny’s thoughts and desire. Crawls right into her skin and reminds you what it feels like to want someone *so* *much*.

Buffy
Decisions, Revisions, Reversals
by Amy
Dawn and Faith and The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock. Amy gets the characters right -- Dawn's longing for a normal life, Faith's longing to be forgiven (but still on her own terms) and includes one of my favorite poems ever.

*

Lord of the Rings
Thrown
by Halrloprillalar
Legolas/Gimli the way it should be done. Delicate, sly, sweet and loving.

*

Earthsea
There isn't much Earthsea fic out there, and I for one think that's a good thing. But this I whole-heartedly recommend, and not just because I beta'd it. *G*

Even Beyond All Other Lands by Bounce
Perfectly in character, this is an exquisite piece of writing that really captures Lebannen's longing for Ged. All beta bias aside, I really think this is a lovely fic.

*

Star Wars
This is Martha Wilson's site
and I recommend everything listed there. Especially The Arandu Series

For those who question why the Original Trilogy was better, I give you Han Solo. My first fictional boyfriend. *swoon*

When I was a kid, I always said "January" "Janjuberry." I don't know why.

Now that you have some personal information about me you didn't want or need, recs:

Smallville
Coming to Town
by Ingrid
Okay, so I"m a month late on this one. Still, you can't go wrong with a good Christmas story, and this definitely is one. Sometimes wishes do come true. All you need is a little faith.

Freshman Orientation by Punk
Clark maneuvers through buying books and freshman dorms, and loving Lex. Beautifully realized and so very true. Anyone who's gone to college or been in love will recognize themselves and their story in this fic.

Look and See by Livia
Chloe and Clark, Lois and Superman. Secret identities and blindness to what's right under their noses. Love this fic. It's hilarious and something that I would *love* to see in Smallville's future.

Go. Read. Send love.

smoochies,

~victoria
